Group: Discharged Female Soldier’s Sexual Assault Allegations Must Be Probed Thoroughly

The #Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) group has called for “thorough investigations” to be conducted into the allegations of sexual violence against former female soldier, Private Ruth Ogunleye by some senior military personnel.

The PSNAFSA in a release urged Nigerians to exercise patience and restraint until the matter is investigated and laid to rest.

Signed by the convener, Ambassador Mary Abayomi-Fatile, PSNAFSA said, “The #Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) urgently calls on all Nigerians to exercise restraint in passing judgment on sensitive situations.

“This appeal is necessitated by the recent allegation by a former Private Soldier, Ruth Ogunleye, who accused the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, of inappropriate conduct.

“We strongly urge the public to avoid hasty condemnation and allow for thorough investigations to be conducted. Let’s join hands in promoting fairness and justice for all.”
