Over 200 soldiers who were attacked at their various duty posts by terrorists and bandits during different operations are currently at the military hospital.
Soldiers who sustained injuries in the fight against the Boko Haram terrorists and bandits who are receiving medical attention at the 44, Army Referral Hospital, Kaduna State, have complained over alleged neglect by the Nigerian Army authorities.
Over 200 soldiers who were attacked at their various duty posts by terrorists and bandits during different operations are currently at the military hospital.
According to them, they have been the ones paying for their treatment and buying drugs by themselves since they were admitted at the military hospital.
The soldiers added that they were yet to receive the special disability compensation they are entitled to.
They noted that they were not well catered to in terms of treatment and welfare by the Nigerian Army authorities.
“Pls tell the whole world that we injured soldiers need help for treatment at the Nigerian Army 44 Reference hospital here in Kaduna,” a soldier shot by Boko Haram terrorists and paralysed from the waist, said.
“Some of us here paid before the different surgical operations were done for us. Till now, army has never returned us our money. Those who broke their legs have been abandoned.“
Another soldier added, “We’re the ones buying drugs by ourselves. We’re helpless, we are not being supported the way we ought to by the army despite our sacrifice.”
